Management of Reed Exhibitions Austria
As of 1st November 2017 Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein (MBA) is the chairman of the executive board and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) at Reed Exhibitions Austria. Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein joined the company in April 2015 as managing director of Reed Messe Salzburg and Reed Messe Wien.
Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein began his occupational career in Austria in sales working for the Mayr-Melnhof Packaging Group. He worked here from 1999 to 2011 eventually being promoted to Head of Hales for Austria, Romania, Italy, Turkey and the SEE region and to the position of General Manager. During this period he also completed an Executive MBA at the IEDC Bled School of Management (Slovenia).
Subsequently, Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein was appointed COO (Chief Operating Officer) at F. Trenka chem.-pharm Fabrik GmbH in Vienna. He was responsible for the establishment of new fields of business and for cooperation with contract manufacturers. Immediately before he joined Reed Exhibitions he was Director of Marketing and Sales in Europe for Graphic Packaging International, based in Brussels, for whom his tasks included the conceptualisation and implementation of a Europe-wide sales and marketing strategy.

Since October 2019, Barbara Leithner has held the position of Managing Director for
B2B Fairs at Reed Exhibitions Austria. In this capacity, she reports directly to CEO Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein. Barbara Leithner’s portfolio includes trade fairs such as “Alles für den Gast Herbst”, “Intertool”, “SMART Automation Austria” and
“Interpädagogica”, to name just a few. One of the main tasks of our new managing director is transforming the structure of the organisation, which the company has already made a start on by centralising communications and adopting the chosen digital strategy.
Barbara Leithner has been working for Reed Exhibitions since 2010 in a wide variety of roles and was most recently responsible for the introduction of a new
ERP system in addition to her duties as Director of Corporate Affairs. Before that, in her role as New Business Manager, she was responsible for developing and implementing successful trade fairs such as the “VIECC Vienna Comic Con” and the “Wiener Immobilien Messe”.
After graduating from the Higher Technical College for Tourism (HLF) in Krems a. d. Donau, Barbara Leithner studied social and economic sciences at the University of Graz. Her dissertation was awarded as the best of its year.
From 2000 to 2004, Barbara Leithner completed her PhD at the University of St. Gallen, School of Economics, Law and Social Sciences, Switzerland. Her dissertation topic was “Strategic Integration of e-Learning in Companies – Contributions of the Balanced Scorecard” and she was awarded the title of Dr. oec. HSG. Barbara Leithner gained profound international professional experience directly afterwards at K&C Kremsner & Consultants Unternehmensberatung AG.
Barbara Leithner was born in Mödling in 1976 and currently lives in Vienna.
Ronald Herzog has been announced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Reed Exhibitions Austria on November 1, 2017 and since then is responsible for Finance, Controlling, Accounting, Purchasing, Legal, Insurance and Revenue Management.
After graduating from commercial academy in St. Johann/Salzburg, Ronald Herzog completed his studies in commercial science at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration with a focus on foreign trade, financing and marketing. While still a student, he worked for the ERSTE Bank AG and undertook a university education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (US).
From 2000 to 2008 he worked as an investment manager in the co-management of a 20 million Euro venture capital fund at ECOS Private Equity. Finally, in 2008, Ronald Herzog started his career at Reed Exhibitions, where he first began as a financial analyst for the Central Eastern Europe Region and shortly thereafter took over the management role for the controlling team in Vienna. At the end of 2009 Ronald Herzog took over management of the whole controlling department of Reed Exhibitions Austria. In addition, in 2013, the Head of Department of bookkeeping followed and when he was finally appointed Finance Director in 2015, Ronald Herzog took over the responsibility for the purchasing department in addition to his current functions.
Ronald Herzog was born in Schwarzach in 1975, is married and lives in Salzburg.
