RX Austria & Germany is a subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions in London (RELX-Group), one of the market leaders in the exhibitions industry and currently active in 40 countries across the globe. Management of RX Austria & Germany



Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein has been Chairman of the Board and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of RX Austria since November 2017. Three years later - in November 2020 - he also took over the same position for RX Germany.

Born in Vienna, he began his professional career in sales for Austria at the Mayr-Melnhof Packaging Group, where he worked from 1999 to 2011, rising to the position of Managing Director and Head of Sales for Austria, Romania, Italy, Turkey and the SEE region. His Executive MBA degree from the IEDC Bled School of Management in Slovenia also falls into this period.

This was followed by a position as COO at F. Trenka chem.-pharm Fabrik GmbH in Vienna, where Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein was entrusted with the development of new business areas and cooperation with contract manufacturers.

Immediately prior to joining RX, he served as Director of Marketing and Sales in Europe at Graphic Packaging International, based in Brussels, where his responsibilities included the conception and implementation of a Europe-wide sales and marketing structure. 



In July 2020, Barbara Leithner took on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at RX Austria and thus overall operational responsibility for the company's own trade fair portfolio. Since November 2020, the task as COO RX Germany has also fallen within her area of responsibility. She has been working at RX in a wide range of functions since 2010 - most recently as Managing Director B2B trade fairs.

After completing her education at the Höhere Lehranstalt für Tourismusberufe in Krems an der Donau, the native of Lower Austria studied social sciences and economics at the Karl Franzens University in Graz. This was followed by doctoral studies at the Swiss University of St. Gallen - School of Economics, Law and Social Sciences. The 44-year-old then gained international professional experience at K&C Kremsner & Consultants Unternehmensberatung AG.



Ronald Herzog has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of RX Austria since November 2017 and is responsible for the areas of finance, controlling, accounting, purchasing as well as legal and insurance. In November 2020, he also took on the role of CFO for RX Germany. After graduating from the commercial academy in St. Johann im Pongau, the 45-year-old studied commercial sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. His studies also included a first engagement at ERSTE Bank AG as well as in-depth training at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the USA. After his time as an investment manager in the co-management of a venture capital fund at ECOS Private Equity, he started his career at RX in 2008. There, the Salzburg native served as head of the controlling, accounting and purchasing departments, among others. In 2015, he took over the position of Finance Director. 



In 2019, Michael Köhler took over the position of Sales Director at RX Germany. His promotion to CSO (Chief Sales Officer) at RX Austria & Germany followed in November 2020. After studying sports management at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences and graduating with a degree in business administration, he gained his first professional experience at an event agency in Stuttgart and at Messe Chemnitz from 2003 to 2008. In 2008 he moved to RX, where he was Event Director at the Düsseldorf location until 2015. After a year as Industry Vice President of RX in Norwalk CT, USA, he was appointed Group Exhibitions Director of RX in Vienna in 2016. Before returning to RX in Düsseldorf, he headed the Management Forum of the Handelsblatt Media Group as Managing Director in 2018-2019.
